Travel Smarter: Essentials to Pack for a Long Flight

While we all love an adventure, we can all agree that the plane rides across the globe can sometimes feel very daunting. Sitting all cramped up next to someone in economy for 16 hours at a time can be quite rough. Here are a few of our hacks and things you need to make those in flight hours a little more stress free:

A (really good) Plane Pillow

Here is the link for the one we like. The best way to make those long flights easier is to catch some sleep and wake up ready for your adventure upon arrival.

Compression socks

I know it is not your obvious item to expect, but there are multiple reasons we wear compression socks on the plane. For those who generally get swollen in the plane, this is a great life saver to help reduce swelling in your feet and legs and reduce the discomfort.

Secondly, medically it is reported to help improve blood circulation, reduce swelling, and minimize the risk of blood clots by squeezing the legs and encouraging blood flow back to the heart. Always consult a doctor to make sure you do what is best for you.

πŸ‘‰ Here are two links of socks that we like: Long Compression Socks and Short Compression socks

πŸ‘‰ P.S. for the ladies who take birth control: Compression socks are known to be really good to prevent clots and keep moving around in the plane! (This is not medical advice. Please consult your doctor if you are taking any such medications).

Phone chargers

There is nothing worse than stressing on the plan when your phone battery is dying and you know you will need it to figure out the next steps on arrival. Save yourself the stress and purchase one of these multi charging cords via this link.

Solar battery pack

This is my holy grail and savior! It is a little pricey, but it is so worth it. There have been many occasions where the plane did not have charging ports and it was impossible to find a plug. This Solar Battery Pack is so powerful and easy to recharge. You won’t regret this purchase

Padlocks

Travel safety is more important than ever before and the last thing you want is to have your valuables stolen or anything put into your bags. Here are ShiShi Style, we always make sure to padlock all our suitcases and smaller carry-on items including bag packs.

πŸ‘‰ Check out these super easy coded Padlocks that are also TSA approved.

This guide has unique items that you usually would not think of, but we want to help ensure your travel is safe and enjoyable, so you are ready to take on your big adventure upon arrival. As always, enjoy every moment of planning your unforgettable adventure, the ShiShi Style way!
