Big cliff against the Atlantic Ocean in Algarve Portugal

What to do in Algarve, Portugal

The Algarve is infamously known for its crystal clear blue sea, breathtaking cliffs, perfect weather and adventurous caves. This little corner of the earth has our heart and is truly one of our favorite places to visit. In order to make it easier for you to also enjoy this corner of the earth like we did, we have recreated our itinerary to help you plan your beautiful adventure.

The Algarve is a large region in the southernmost part of Portugal with some of the most picturesque towns and beaches. When researching this area, you will see several different towns and cities for you to explore such as Faro, Lagos, Albufeira, Tavira, and Portimão. Each area has its own specific charm and wonderful experiences to offer. Here at The ShiShi Style we want to focus on one little town that stole our heart named Carvoeiro.

Carvoeiro is a smaller and quieter town compared to all other areas of the Algarve. It was a former fishing village and it has grown into a relaxed and upmarket destination while keeping much of its traditional Portuguese charm. The town center is compact, walkable, and filled with cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops.

How to get there?

Option 1: Land at Faro Airport and take a 20 minute taxi to the town. This is the easiest way if you are landing from another location in Europe.

Option 2: Land at Lisbon International Airport and rent a car or shuttle service which will take approximately 2.5 hours drive. This might be the easier option if you are landing internationally due to limited flight options landing in Faro.

Where to stay?

Monte Santo Resort: It is Carvoeiro’s first all-suite 5-star resort located featuring multiple outdoor pools, spa, suites with kitchens, and child-friendly facilities such as a Kid’s Club.
